Capsule Shanghai at Fondazione Marchesani

Capsule Shanghai on Monday March 4, 2024, inaugurated inside Fondazione Marchesani, When We Become Us2, the inaugural exhibition of Capsule Venice, the first of 4 main exhibitions accompanied by other collateral events, site-specific projects and cultural activities curated by Manuela Lietti, independent curator. These projects will activate throughout 2024 the interior and exterior spaces of the Foundation by establishing a constant dialogue with the urban fabric of Venice, its inhabitants, its institutions and all art lovers.

Capsule Venice aims not only to create a commercial gallery but also to create a kind of cultural think-thank, an open platform. The choice to open the exhibition with a broader and more modern take on When We Become Us2, with which Capsule Shanghai opened in Shanghai in 2016, was no accident.

When We Become Us2 guarantees a journey between introspection and discovery in which the ethical and aesthetic dimensions go hand in hand, as well as the intertwining of the different paths, personal and professional, of the 29 artists involved who present new collaborations resulting in a purposeful long-term commitment based on sharing.

This first exhibition is the ideal manifest with which Capsule Venice presents itself to the public and makes explicit its aspiration to become a hub founded on knowledge of the global contemporary art system while maintaining humanistic implications and an almost “artisanal” modus operandi.

When We Become Us2 will be available until March 23 Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
